Bars and pubs are closing down at a rate higher than ever before. This is primarily due to the rise in living costs, however, pubs and bars also struggle with promotion. Most pubs still rely on customers physically viewing blackboards to discover deals, meaning they can’t reach new customers without them already through the door.
BarBased aims to become the middle-man in bar and pub sales. By providing a platform for promotion, not only will the pubs and bars benefit from an increase in sales, but users will also benefit from seeing every available option for a drink in their area.
My job was to create brand guidelines for the concept investor pitch. I used bright pops of colour on a darker background in response to the recent surge in users prefering ‘dark mode’. I also took into account the target audience and the night time peak in user engagement. I wanted the identity to feel sophisticated yet also fun.
